From Yao tribe, north Vietnam, hand carved wood with paper mache overlay. 13"x6".  These masks are traditionally worn by the Shaman who oversees a Yao (Dao/Zao) funeral.  The purpose is to disguise the Shaman from any spirits that may be present at the ritual.  Hanoi.  This is a vintage mask.
